About Crescent Bay Castle

 The gate, hand carved by a previous owner, depicts a lion and matches several other doors on the property.  The unusual stone and brickwork of the walls in front of the house were constructed by a local mason and are considered local works of art. The materials include brick types, stone and wood, as well as, the whimsical placement of interesting mechanical devices and even a whale bone.  Passing through the garden gate you begin the transition as you step back in time.  The cottage garden with multiple tiers and terraces are alive with a bold display of colorful plantings, delicate ferns and more whimsical walls. Adjacent to the entry path is an old aviary once inhabited by peacocks and currently houses Freddie a double yellow head parrot along with several beautiful orchids. The path continues over a wood bridge crossing a winding stone stream with fish and water lilies barely visible through the maidenhair ferns.
